4×4 and SUV rental in Kyrgyzstan

Kyrgyzstan is 90% mountains, and half of what makes it worth visiting starts where the asphalt ends. Those routes need four-wheel drive and 200 mm of clearance or more.

Where a 4×4 takes you

Ala-Archa and Chunkurchak gorges, an hour from the city. Too-Ashuu pass on the Bishkek–Osh highway. The southern shore of Issyk-Kul, Son-Kul at 3,000 metres, Sary-Chelek. The last two are simply not reachable in a normal car: gravel, river crossings and switchbacks.

What matters off asphalt

Ground clearance keeps the underbody off the rocks. Real four-wheel drive pulls you up loose climbs and out of wet clay. All-Terrain tyres grip on both rock and gravel. Our SsangYong Musso and Subaru Ascent cover all three.

Pickup or crossover

The SsangYong Musso is a body-on-frame 4×4 pickup with 215 mm clearance and an open bed — room for gear, tents, bikes or building materials. The Subaru Ascent is a seven-seat crossover with Symmetrical AWD and 220 mm clearance: similar capability, but with the comfort of a passenger car and three rows of seats.

Before heading into the mountains

Tell us your route when booking — we prepare the car for that specific road and brief you on pass conditions. In winter high-altitude routes ice over and some passes close because of avalanche risk.
